Judge Saldaña Selected NAWJ District Director

Judge Marisela Saldaña was named District Director of the National Association of Women Judges on November 6, 2008. In her capacity as District Director, Judge Saldaña will oversee the educational programs, events and outreach for NAWJ members in Texas, Oklahoma and Arkansas. NAWJ, which has 1,275 members nationwide, provides judicial education and works to increase the numbers and advancement of women judges at all levels.


Judge Saldaña Participates in Landmark U.S.-Russia Conference on the Rule of Law

Judge Marisela Saldaña traveled to St. Petersburg, Russia to represent Nueces County in an eight-day global conference on November 2, 2007 through November 9, 2007. She was invited as part of the United States delegation by the People to People Ambassador Program.

She learned about Russian culture and participated in dialogue on topics including Terrorism Law, Business Law, Election Law and Elections, Human Trafficking of Women, Litigation, Law School Issues, International and Local Aspects of Intellectual Property Law and Human Rights and Freedoms Protection.
