Judge Saldaña Elected to Coastal Bend Women Lawyers Board
On June 9, 2009, Judge Marisela Saldaña was reelected to the Board of Directors of the Coastal Bend Women Lawyers Association. Judge Saldaña is a founding member of the CBWLA and has previously served as president of the organization.
The Coastal Bend Women Lawyers Association was founded in 1988 as a vehicle to encourage women to pursue a career in law and to provide a network of support for women lawyers.
The following members were elected as officers of the organization for the year 2009-2010: Susan Barclay, President; Kim Frost-Gonzales, Vice President; CharlotteYochem, Secretary; Lucinda J. Garcia, Treasurer; Sandy Sterb-Boatwright, Immediate Past President. Other members elected as directors are: Kathleen Day, Nancy DeLong, Roxy Stevens,Pat Shackelford, Susan Spiering, Alison Brady and Nina Stone.

Judge Saldaña Comments on Nomination of Justice Sonia Sotomayor
Judge Saldaña was interviewed by Caller-Times reporter Leanne Libby on Friday, May 29, 2009, regarding her views on the nomination of Justice Sonia Sotomayor to the United States Supreme Court.
Judge Saldaña was delighted that President Barak Obama nominated a woman, noting that there are significantly fewer women than male judges, particularly at the federal level.
